Pioneer Museum Park

Original buildings, machinery, photos and artefacts used by the district's pioneers. The Pioneer Park has two bush walks - a short 1/2 to 1 hour walk and a longer walk along the river bank up to Mossy Garden. They are both interesting walks and cater for all ages and abilities within the two walks. We have a quiz which the children can do as they tour the museum and on completion are given a sepia print of Hampden Bridge with a certificate on the back which has the child's name and date of the visit. We also have a barrel which they can run on as it rolls, quoits using horse shoes, and the swing bridge is another terrific thing for the children. We have found the interactive sound system good for children of all ages too! There is a geology section what rocks are to be found in the Valley.
