(National Geographic) This National Geographic, interactive website on Global Warming explains everything from the natural greenhouse effect and the earths atmosphere to the anthropogenic causes of climate change. It inluces some great animations that help understand what is occuring and why. Global Warming - Cool it! (Australian Greenhouse Office) This publication is produced by the Australian Greenhouse Office and can be either downloaded, read online or ordered. It is a good overview publication and contains a greenhouse emissions calculator as well as a wealth of practical tips. A good starting point for your own research! The BOM provides an excellent scientific overview of climate change with reference to the Australian environment. They have provided good links to other sources such the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the CSIRO and the Australian Greenhouse Office. There is also a reference guide available to download. The Big Switch is a coaltion of Australian organisations, businesses and community groups that have banded together to raise awareness about climate change. This website is an excellent resource - it contains links to a wealth of references both on and off-line. There are online videos explaining climate change such as David Suzuki on climate change, as well as lists of recommended books and other web resources This web page provides an excellent quick overview of going Carbon Neutral via the use of Carbon Offsets. It has a wealth of links to other resources such as carbon calculators and carbon offset vendors. The site is mainly North American focussed but the Gold Standard Carbon Offset vendor links also include Australian vendors. Presented by former American Vice President, Al Gore, this is "one man's crusade to halt global warming in its tracks". (NSW Government) The NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change provides this excellent overview of Climate Change, how it will affect NSW and what the NSW government is doing.
